How long does a homeopathic consultation take?

An initial consultation takes around 60 to 90 minutes for adults, and 30 and 60 minutes for children.  A homeopath will look at all aspects of your body and lifestyle, not just your presenting symptoms.  Follow up consultations are usually 60 minutes for adults and 30 minutes for children.

 

Can homeopathy be used alongside other forms of conventional medicine?

Should I tell my doctor if I am taking homeopathic remedies?

Yes.  In the same way, you should also tell your homeopath if you are taking any conventional medicines.

 

What form do homeopathic medicines usually take?

Homeopathic medicines are typically prescribed in small sugar pellets, but also they are also available in creams and tinctures.

 

How are homeopathic medicines made?

Homeopathic remedies are made by a process called potentization.  The relevant substance (plant, mineral, metal etc) is diluted and shaken vigorously (or successed).  The process is then repeated a number of times, each time using a fraction of the resulting solution, until the desired potency is reached.

 

What does Potency mean?

Potency refers to how many times a remedy has been diluted.  For homeopathic first aid, a 30 potency is normally used.
